Hey there! I’m Sarae, I am 25 years old, born and raised in upstate New York. A lot of people immediately think of the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State building when I mention I am from New York, but no… where I grew up is just the opposite. Think large fields and lots of cows. Yes, that’s the New York I am from! However, my Husband and I and our two kids made a huge change this year. We took a leap of Faith and decided to pursue some big dreams. We uprooted our little family, left our beloved home, and moved 12 hours away to start a new life in North Carolina.
I met my husband when I was 10 years old. He started coming to my school that year and quickly became one of my brother’s best friends. He was three grades above me, and we both dated different people all throughout high school so I didn’t “steal him away” until after I graduated!
Aaron and I were married in 2011 when I was just 19 and he was 21. After marriage we didn’t waste any time buying, gutting, and rebuilding our first home, investing in our first rental house, and starting our own rental property business all within the first few years of marriage. He’s a pretty amazing guy I have to say, I got super lucky with this one!
On September 8th 2014 we welcomed our amazing baby girl into the world, Honor June. She changed our lives for the better, she is a spitfire and I love every bit of her!
And just recently, on February 16th 2017 we welcomed our precious baby boy, Jesse Aaron. It has been quite the ride adjusting to two little humans in the home! But I wouldn’t have it any other way! 🙂
I was a hairdresser for about 7 years when we lived in NY, but now that we have moved to NC I am a stay at home mom, which isn’t always easy, but I am incredibly grateful that I get to be with them. Me being able to stay home with the kids was one of our biggest reasons for making our move. It worked out financially for us, and we’ve always love the Carolinas. It also gave us the opportunity to make some changes to our lifestyle and have way more time together as a family.
My husband works as a Construction Administrator for an Architecture company, and he has a passion for investing in real estate and other opportunities on the side. He loves everything that has to do with numbers, finances and taking steps towards becoming financially free!
This blog is going to be geared towards sharing my thoughts and ideas on living a simple, but joy filled life. Join us on our journey towards a more minimalistic lifestyle, and moving closer to financial freedom. I’ll also share about the joys, and trials of moving several states away with two young children, and the realities of not living near most of our family.
My husband and I are determined to spend as much time as possible making memories together as a family, and as little time as possible worrying about paying bills, cleaning the house, or figuring out what we are going to wear. Since our move we have been making big changes in our lives to live more intentionally, and to not be impulsive. This translates through all things in life. Being healthy, purchasing things, budgeting and investing, and even relationships. These will be the topics I will be focusing on the most, showing how we apply it to our daily lives, and the joys and benefits we have experienced through it.
