As much as I love to make things look pretty, try new crafts, organize everything, and plan out my days, sometimes….. No, MOST times, those things are simply not real life guys. It’s just not! Real life is messy, slightly chaotic, and full of suprises.
Today started out great. I woke up in a wonderful mood and was literally dancing around the house and singing and being silly with Honor until Aaron had to leave for work. For some reason, the very moment he left, all hell broke loose. Honor immediately started whining about anything and everything and Jesse woke up screaming his tiny face off. I finally got Jesse to calm down long enough to get a few nice pictures of him today. Here is one of my favorites!!
You can almost tell that he was still slightly ticked off. 😛
So I got some nice pictures after much fuss, then much more fuss came after! He is normally a very good baby, so I wasn’t used to him being this upset. He would not let me put him down for a minute. I was supposed to work in a few hours and hadn’t gotten breakfast for Honor or myself yet and hadn’t even touched my hair or makeup. The whole time Jesse was crying Honor was throwing little fits about the tiniest things, like not being able to get a sticker off of her stuffed lamb (which she put there) and finding a stink bug on her blankey… (kinda don’t blame her for that one.. nasty bugs!!)
I was trying to get breakfast ready and finally got fed up and frustrated and dropped everything and said to Honor, “you know what? It’s a beautiful day… let’s go for a walk!” To which she replied, “yaaaay okaaaaay!!” So I threw my hair in a bun, made an Arbonne meal replacement shake. (Amazing by the way!!), and plopped screaming Jesse into my Ergo 360 baby carrier, (best invention ever) which at first ticked him off even more, but he eventually settled in… phew…
Real life for ya. Naked face and messy hair, going for a walk and SO don’t care!

When we were almost back to the house suddenly Honor starts laughing and yelling “wiiiyyyooowww!!!” Which, translation, means Willow. (The name of my yorkshire terrier dog) soon after she yelled that I felt my dog jumping on my leg! I quickly scooped her up as we were right on the road, and wondered what in the world she was doing outside! As we got closer to the house I saw that our front door was wide open. So immediately thoughts started going through my mind… did I leave the door open? Noooo, I must have just not shut it very well… wait… did someone break in?! I was a little freaked out and stood outside for a good few minutes debating whether I should call the police and have someone walk through the house first. It was the middle of the day and other neighbors were outside so I figured that was unlikely, but I guess you never know! Let me just say that that would have probably been the wisest thing to do, however Jesse was starting to fuss again, Honor wanted out of her stroller, and I was holding a wriggly dog… so I went inside, got a knife (like I would know how to use it if I had to :P) and checked every room. Honor kept asking me what I was doing and I told her I was looking for a pineapple to cut.. lol… so I realize this was probably pretty dumb of me, but I was about 98% sure that I just didn’t close the door well enough.
After I confirmed that no one was in the house, I fixed Honor a snack seems she still hadn’t eaten. Yogurt, grapes, and blueberries. Jesse was still a mess so yes, I let her watch Daniel tiger on the iPad while she snacked. 😛
That’s my ergo sprawled across the floor in the background because I whipped it off to get little screaming Jesse out of there quickly, and a little more real life for ya…
Laundry… and this is only one of the several baskets I had going on…
After all the morning chaos, I worked for seven hours in my salon, and then came upstairs to a screaming baby again.. 🙂 So guys, life is so far from being perfect. No matter how wonderful someone’s life may look on Instagram, or how put together and crafty a momma may seem on Pinterest, guess what? Their lives get messy and chaotic too. It’s crazy, it’s real, it’s life! But it’s all good… just keep smiling, laugh at what you can, and remember that no one is perfect. <3
Did you have a messy chaotic day, or maybe an entire weeks worth?? Tell me about it in the comments below. 🙂
