In February of this year we welcomed our second little baby into the world! Living in upstate NY I never would have thought that just a few weeks after having him it would be warm enough to take our kiddos to the park, but we had a few random days of 60 degree weather, which is considered VERY warm for February. So we packed up our toddler and our new little peanut and set out for ” the dinosaur park,” as my daughter calls it. 😉
I consider myself so lucky to have a husband who is so involved with his little ones. He didn’t hesitate for one second when Honor asked Daddy to “ride the dinosaur with me!” He is such a great Father. He even rode the little pony just to make Honor and I giggle. Haha!
Aaron kept Honor busy and I, of course, brought my Moby wrap to tote little Jesse around in. The Moby wrap is amazing for carrying infants, and there are SO many different ways that you can wear it! Forward facing in, Forward facing out, on your hip, on your back, and you can even nurse in it! Check out youtube for all of the different ways you can wrap this thing. It’s crazy! In my experience, newborns love how cozy and close they feel to you when they’re wrapped up in it. Jesse stayed perfectly warm and happy in there for the whole hour we spent at the park, and then grocery shopping afterwards as well!
The only negatives about this wrap, in my opinion, is that there is a ton of fabric, and trying to get it all wrapped up onto you outside and in the cold can be a bit difficult. The ends tend to drag on the ground while I am doing it. My advice would be to put this thing on before you leave your home so that you are ready to stick your baby inside once you get to your destination, then you avoid fidgeting with it outside in a parking lot somewhere! Also, when your child gets bigger, it is harder to use this wrap because there isn’t much support. I tried to use it with my daughter as she grew and my back couldn’t handle it once she got over 15lbs. I ended up getting the Ergo 360 at that point and I LOVE IT. I will do a review on that in another post. 🙂
Other than those two things, I really do love the Moby wrap, especially for those first few months when they are so teeny tiny, and want to be snuggled in close to mommy!
Here is a link for the Moby Wrap on Amazon if you’re interested in checking it out. 🙂
Honor had an absolute blast going down the slide over and over again, and aren’t her little Carhartt bibs the CUTEST!? They are the perfect play pants! Super durable and warm, and the wash up really well too. You can find them on Amazon here!
Aaron pushed Honor on the swings for a good 20 minutes or so and we played in the musical instrument area until it started getting close to lunchtime. Then we packed everyone up to go grocery shopping, then head home. It was a super fun day, and a rare gem to have it be that warm in February. When that happens, you have to drop everything and go play outside!! 🙂
I cannot wait until our little guy is big enough to run around the playgrounds too! But for now, I will soak up all of those wonderful newborn snuggles. <3
